Presidential Candidates Approved by FIFA – FIFA has approved five candidates to stand a chance and contest for FIFA president in February’s vote to replace Sepp Blatter.
The head of the Liberian football association, Musa Bility, was disqualified after receiving provisional approval.
FIFA had explained that the reasons why Bility was disqualified is privately made know to Bility, but it would not be disclosed to the general public.
Meanwhile, the five men who met the requirement after series of integrity tests include the following:
- Ali Al Hussein
- Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa
- Jerome Champagne
- Gianni Infantino
- Tokyo Sexwale,
According to FIFA, Platini was screen out because of his potential ethics violations, and a probe over a murky $2 million payment he received from FIFA in 2011.
